Review: Green Angel by Alice Hoffman

Green Angel is without a doubt a post-apocalyptic fairy tale. Green lives with her family on a farm until the day that they go into town to sell their goods and leave Green behind to watch the farm. Disaster strikes and there is no doubt that her family will never return. So Green tries to become hard, to close herself off to the darkness of the world around her, even as life tries to chip away that that razor-blade exterior and remind her who she is.

Very beautifully told and brief, Green Angel should be an essential part of a teen collection and a must read for teens who still believe if fairy tales, even if they don’t want to admit it anymore.
