Book Review: Hawkeye versus Deadpool

You’ll find an almost wholesome Deadpool in this tale of Hawkeye and Deadpool teaming up to take on…every other Marvel hero? Deadpool meets Hawkeye while out trick or treating with his daughter. (Hawkeye gives out full-sized candy bars!) A mysterious man shows up at Hawkeye’s door asking for help. Hawkeye, feeling insecure and depressed, rebukes the man and tells him to go ask a real hero. So instead the stranger slips a USB into Deadpool’s candy bucket.

By morning the man is dead outside Hawkeye’s apartment and Deadpool and Hawkeye are the only ones who can stop a big bad from getting a top secret list of S.H.I.E.L.D. agent home addresses. Deadpool is feeling protective of the agents, and Hawkeye, who is feeling rather discouraged with super hero life.

Both hilarious and touching, this is a great addition to public and private collections, especially if you’re looking for graphic novels that look past Batman and Supes and the flashier Avengers. Or for comics that include disabled heroes who are still completely kick ass.
