TV Review: iZombie Season 2

Blaine and Major have been cured of the zombie virus, but Ravi is still searching for more tainted utopium to synthesize more doses. Meanwhile our favorite zombie-friendly Scooby crew becomes embroiled in a plot by zombie virus creator #2; Max Rager creator Vaughn DuClark. DuClark not just knows about the side effects, he wants to harness zombies, hide them from being exposed as a Max Rager side effect (by having Major kill them), and make a new, more powerful version of his energy drink and sell it, consequence free, to every bro-hard in the world.

This season’s real emotional punch is over the Major arc. Poor Major has hunted the zombies killing street kids when no one believed him, costing him his job and nearly his sanity, only to find out zombie are real and be turned. And now the cure comes with side effects that DuClark is more than willing to threaten Liv to get Major to use for him. This season sees him blackmailed into hunting more zombies (ones chosen to benefit DuClark) to keep Liv from being a victim.

The second season has just as much punch as they first. It’s possibly my favorite season. Definitely a binge-worthy addition to your Netflix list.
