margin: 0px !important;\" src=\"https:\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=monstlibra0f1-20&amp;language=en_US&amp;l=li3&amp;o=1&amp;a=B00CKZRAH4\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Standard\"><i>Times of Trouble<\/i>\u00a0edited by Lane Adamson<\/p>\n<p class=\"Standard\">Permuted Press, 2013<\/p>\n<p class=\"Standard\">ASIN:\u00a0 B00CKZRAH4<\/p>\n<p class=\"Standard\">Available: Kindle edition<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i>\u00a0 \u00a0 Times of Trouble<\/i>\u00a0is a collection of 22 short stories that explore the ultimate \u201cDo \u2013 Over,\u201d time travel.\u00a0 Each author was tasked with taking a second chance to \u201cget it right\u201d, but with a delicious twist;\u00a0 the\u00a0 attempt actually makes a bad situation worse.\u00a0 Each story starts fresh, and the result is a splendid variety of topics.\u00a0 Some of them expected others, not so much.\u00a0 The time travel tales include: Dinosaur Hunting, Tourism, The Civil War, Overlords, Missing Persons, The Butterfly Effect, Raising Children, Paradox, Detectives, Cartoons, Archeology, Revenge, Robots, and Zombies.\u00a0 How these stories mix together is a fun read that makes you wonder what would you do with just one more chance to \u201cGet It Right?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Standard\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I loved this collection.\u00a0 While some of the stories weren&#8217;t the type of thing I would normally read they were all thought provoking and highly imaginative.\u00a0 The tales were well written with each of the authors doing a great job twisting the second chance down a darker path.\u00a0 The settings were established excellently and the characters had distinctive voices.\u00a0 The descriptions were laid in nicely leaving me with an excellent sense of place and time.\u00a0 My favorite stories were Matthew Baugh&#8217;s \u201cRabid Season\u201d, a mixture of time travel and 1970&#8217;s cartoons, and\u00a0 Jeff Drake&#8217;s \u201cLittle Girl Lost\u201d, with its creepy Lovecraftian nod toward time travel and missing persons.\u00a0 The only criticism I have is that a few typographical errors sneaked in.\u00a0 Ironically, the most poorly edited was the tale \u201cA Hatful of Yesterday\u201d, written by the editor, Lane Adamson: a good argument to have someone else edit your work.\u00a0 That being said, I enjoyed the concept and looked forward to reading each story.\u00a0 It was a fun read!\u00a0 If you like time travel then this is well worth reading.\u00a0 I have not read any of these authors&#8217;
