It’s not perfect, the pace is off, more heavily loaded in the back end making it feel rushed. The leads are a little too perfect and powerful at times.

But there are pirates, and dragons, and psychic/magical powers, fae, and it’s all set in a dystopian world where ice almost completely covers the world.

Nat escaped from a program for “special” kids (aka a military training complex/asylum for kids with manifested powers) and now hides as a blackjack dealer in New Vegas, where she’s not the only one with secrets. He has a team to support, and the last thing he needs is a job smuggling another mutant out on a wild goose chase for “The Blue”, some epic fantasy land where food is plentiful and the sun still shines on grass not ice. Harsher and darker than Cruz’ Blue Bloods books, it’s also a more delicately beautiful tale.

I can’t wait for the next book!

Can I just start with: I absolutely loved this book?
